Configure IP Address Tracking
IP Address Tracking is feature of the Video Surveillance WebCam Software which provides a way to find your computer's ip address address from the internet. It can work for some modems, modem-routers, and routers.
In the Video Surveillance WebCam Software
Setup IP Address Tracking
Now your computer's IP address will be sent to our web site where you can go to look it up.
If everything is configured right, and your network is configured right, you should receive a message that says, "IP Sent OK".
Click on menu item, Your Remote ID.
Write it down.
At Our Web Site
Go to our web site.
Click on a link that says "Find Your Computer on the Internet" or "IP Address Tracking" to bring you to web page with a form it where you enter your Remote ID. Enter your Remote ID in the web form.
The web form returns a web page with the ip addresses of your computer.
Computers IP Address
is your computers IP address. If your not using a router or a modem-router you can use that IP address to connect directly the Video Surveillance WebCam Software on your computer.
IP Address Seen
is the IP address seen by our computer at our web site. If your using a router it most likely it is current router's ip address. You can use this address to connect to your router, and through your router to your computer if your router has been configured right.
If the Computer's IP address and the IP Address Seen are different then your using a router, or modem is modem-router ie half router half modem so you have to configure it as a router ie open ports.
You should be able to click on one of the two links in the web page to be connected to your computer and get the logon page of the Video Surveillance WebCam Software. If not your router's ip address has already changed again, or your firewall is blocking, or you might need to open ports on your router, or your isp is blocking port 80 on the Web Server. Check and test your network configuration.
The Video Surveillance WebCam Software's IP Address Tracking feature sends the ip address to our web site about every 3 hours. So if your router is changing its IP address faster than every 3 hours, then you cannot use this feature to find your computer. You need to use another method.
Instead of always entering the long Remote ID, you can make a small web page with the your remote id in it already and use it. In the program directory there is maybe a file called FindMyIP.htm which you may be able to edit.
