Alarm History

Menu Location: Settings - Status

Shows history of the most recent alarms. The dialog has a button to show a longer alarm history from the alarm history file.

Alarms can only be set for Monitor Mode. No alarms can be set or occur if using Record Mode. Therefore alarm history pertains to Monitor Mode only.

For alarms to occur sound and email alarms must be enabled, and the system must be Armed. Therefore alarm history is only recorded if sound and email alarms were be enabled, and the system was Armed.

An alarm history line item which has a file name, that video file can quickly be viewed to see the video of the cause of the alarm. High light the line item with a file name with the mouse, and click on button Play File.

If the file no longer exists, an error message occurs. Note: files with no motion alarms in them may not be saved because they do not have any motion detected video to put into them. Files of 0 length are not saved.

Video file names consist of the date when the files were first opened D101406T140103CAM000.avi = Date=10-14-06 Time=14:01:03

For Alarm History

Each camera has an alarm condition - based the number of video frames with motion detection (or no motion detection if set) in them within a given time period.

One Sound or Email Alarm can report an alarm condition for one camera, or multiple cameras at the same time.

Total Alarms in File, can be either one email or sound alarm. Or both an email and sound alarm issued at the same time which in that case would be counted as 1 alarm for the file. The meaning can be determined by examining the alarm status line items above the Total Alarms in File line item.

Example (A)

Assuming under menu item Alarm Settings, we set Alarm Polling Time=15 seconds, and in our Camera Configuration we set Frames for Alarm=5, then the following means:

"Alarm Condition Motion on Camera=0" means that with in an Alarm Polling Time of 15 seconds, 5 or more video frames had motion detected in them, so an alarm condition for Camera 0 was set.

"Sound Alarm issued - alarms on Camera=0,10," means that a one sound alarm was played through the computer speakers for two alarm conditions found on cameras 0, and 10.

"Total Alarms =1 in File=D101506T133748CAMALL.avi" means that there is video of one alarm in file D101506T133748CAMALL.avi, and that alarm could have been either an email alarm or a sound alarm, or both an email alarm and a sound alarm issued for the same general alarm.

From the time the file was created D101406T140103 to the time it was closed 10/14/06 14:01:24, one alarm occurred and email alarm or a sound alarm, or both were issued. The cause of the alarm is in file D101406T140103CAM000.avi. From the preceding line item status we see that both a sound and email alarm were issued for the one alarm that occurred.
