Try to use the recommended video hardware and drivers since they are tested to work well with the Video Monitoring Software program. They are not expensive and generally are of good quality. Other capture card drivers, vary greatly between manufactures that it is hard to get a consistent set of operating parameters.
The program will run and capture video when hidden or minimized to an icon on the taskbar, provide that the Window's TaskBar is visible on your computer screen. If the program is visible on your computer screen and completely covered by another program window, it will stop capturing video and detecting motion. Therefore minimize Video Monitoring Software to icon if you are going to completely cover up your computer screen with other applications, in order for Video Monitoring Software to keep running and detect motion.
When in Desk Mode
Enable, Show Errors in Message Box, when running program so errors are brought to your attention, otherwise errors flash by on the status bar and to file. Disabling this feature is for unattended operation.
Keep Enable Remote Password enable to prevent unauthorized web access the Video Monitoring Software.
Close down Video Monitoring Software program sequentially. If in local Monitor Mode, stop Monitor Mode first, then do a File, Exit. This allows ample time for video files to be saved.
For menu item Settings,Video, Video Format, avoid picking unsupported formats like YUV9, since they are not supported. Only RGB16, RGB24, and RGB32 are supported.
When in Web Mode
Always log off, when finished a remote access session.
When using a remote browser to control the Video Monitoring Software program, wait for the submitted command to fully execute and return a response before issuing other commands. This provides for more reliable operation. This especially important when going between Web Monitor Mode and Web Live Mode - this can be 20 seconds or so. So please try to be patient.
Try to set Video Monitoring Software settings for Web Mode, locally in front of your computer, before going away to use Video Monitoring Software remotely.
