Assumes you have the video multiplexer installed and 3 cameras attached.
We are going to enable alarm on camera 2 and scan cameras 0 to 2. Result will be we will capture motion on all cameras to file, but only issue an alarm on camera 2. For example we have camera 0 at the front of the house, camera 1 at the back of the house, and camera 2 inside the house - we only want to be informed by an alarm if someone has entered the house as seen on camera 2, and anyone outside side of the house on camera 0 or 1 will be recorder to video file but no alarm will be issued for them.
Put Video Monitoring Software program into Video Mode to start.
Select menu item, Settings, Multiple Camera Scanning, Scan Settings, place a check mark beside cameras 0,1, and 2, and remove check marks from the rest of the cameras. Set Min Frames=5 and Max Frames=30 for cameras 0-2. On Switch Skip Frames=2, Default Camera=0, check Enable Multiplexer if it is installed. Click OK. Save Configuration. This means we have enable cameras 0,1, and 2 in our scanning. We will capture 5 frames from each camera, but if we detect motion in the 5 frames from one camera we will then stay with the camera that exhibited motion and capture a maximum of 30 frames before moving on to the next camera in the scan i.e. pause a while longer and take more pictures were the action is. If that next camera has no motion detected in it we will only capture 5 frames and move onto to the next camera in the scan.
Select Menu Item Alarms, Define Alarm Condition, place a check mark beside cameras 2, and uncheck the rest of the cameras including Total All Cameras. Set Frames=7 for cameras 2. Set Time Interval=30.Click OK. Save Configuration. This means we will only issue an alarm from camera 2, if there are 7 frames with motion in them during a time interval of 30 seconds.
Now lets choose the type of alarm we want to receive, and enable it.
Select menu item, Settings, Alarms, Enable Sound Alarms, place a check mark beside Enable Play Sound on Alarm Condition. For a Period of =1. Click OK. (You could have just as well selected an email alarm instead here.)
Now lets enable scanning. Select menu item, Settings, Multiple Camera Scanning, Enable Scanning, and Enable Show All Cameras Window.
Go to Settings, Status, and click Clear Status.
Select menu item Monitor, Enable Capture Video to File.
( Also make sure menu item, Monitor, Activate Enabled Alarms and Capture, has already been selected i.e. status bar shows ARMED.)
Now we are ready to monitor - Select menu item Monitor Start.
Walk around in front of all three cameras, especially in front of camera number 2.
Result:
You will hear a sound alarm being played over the speakers of your computer. The status bar will display a message that an alarm has been issued for channel 2, and no other alarms for other cameras appear.
Select menu item Monitor, Stop Monitoring and select menu item, Settings, Alarms, Enable Sound Alarms, remove check mark beside Enable Play Sound on Alarm Condition - to turn off the alarm reporting.
(Alternatively, select menu item, Monitor, Deactivate Enabled Alarms and
Capture.)
Select menu item Settings, Status, Program Status, there you can see the Alarm Sounds=1 or so for the number of sound alarms issued. More specifically Alarms Camera 2 =1 identifying the source of the alarm, and notice there are no other alarms for the rest of the cameras, showing we choose alarms for some cameras and not others. Click OK.
Now lets look at the video captured file. Select menu item File, Open, and choose the last file, created, and play it. Notice that video from all three cameras enable in the scanning (0,1, and 2) recorded video when motion was detected in front of them, especially video from camera number 2 for which we wanted to receive an alarm. According to the example, we saw video of someone in front of the house camera 0, at the back of the house camera 1 ( no major threat so no alarm), and someone in side the the house on camera 2 - for which we definitely wanted to receive an alarm for.
End of example.
